About Coyote

I'm an under-sized, un-athletic guy who likes to run and bike long distances. Despite a history of problems with my heart, kidneys, asthma, and anemia, I've always loved getting outside and moving around. Halfway through college, I discovered long-distance running and began running marathons and took up long-distance bike touring.

Since then, I've gone on self-supported bike tours in 16 countries, logged roughly 6,000 km of backpacking, and set course records in six marathons and three ultramarathons. Currently, I'm a high school math teacher in the beautiful Texas Hill Country.

Coyote's Travels

I like both hiking and biking, perhaps the latter a bit more than the former.

This summer, the plan is to ride a mountain bike from Tucson to Seattle, staying off pavement as much as possible, through a combination of trails and dirt roads. A similarly off-road tour in Africa was the original hope, but that'll have to be saved for another summer.

Read about Coyote's adventure with his father in Central Texas. Music, food, wheels, family, all the finer things in life.
